Rink Maintenance Complete - Ready for Skating Season!

Special THANK YOU!! to the Kinsmen Club of Calgary, City of Calgary Alderman Diane Colley-Urquhart, and all the other volunteers that showed up on November 15th, 2008 to help prep the rinks for another excellent upcoming season of skating.

A note to share from the club: On behalf of the Kinsmen Club of Calgary, I wish to thank you for your hospitality at yesterdays work party. I have recieved several emails from the Kinsmen who were there expressing what a fun time they had. These kinds of projects fit with our motto, "Serving the Communities Greatest Needs", and those that particapted feel pride in being able to help your Community finish the repairs to your hockey rink. Here are some photos of the team that helped out.

Newsflash

Do you love cold weather and clearing snow?  Better yet, have you always wanted to drive a Zamboni?

We're the Millrise ice crew and we maintain the ice through the winter. The good news is that we have machines to do the heavy work and the work is extremely rewarding when we see kids active and skating. We're always looking for new volunteers. In October each year we begin our fall tune-up and we generally begin making ice in late November; please plan on coming down early in the year and get acquainted with the work.
