I just want to extend my gratitude on behalf of the Millrise Community Association to all the people in the community for making the Santa Skate on Dec 16th such a huge success!!! Being new in the position of lifestyles director and not having much experience in planning big events I really had to learn fast and didn’t have a lot of time to plan this special event. We had no idea on how many people we would be expecting since this event was open to everyone. We desperately hoped that we had enough food and drinks to feed everyone who show up, or that all the food we bought didn’t go to waste in case no one showed up. We were all pleasantly surprised that shortly after the sun came out so did the people in our community, but we never expected that it was going to be such a huge success and that we would actually have just enough food to feed everyone and none would go to waste! I was also very happy to run into quite a few familiar faces, which I knew in the community who had also showed up and brought their families to enjoy the day and show their support.
I really enjoyed planning this event and with the help of my board members putting it all together for you to enjoy. I am glad it turned out to be such a great success and felt good about being able to contribute to the community. It feels great being part of such a strong community where everyone knows one another and makes me realize that if I could make a difference in our community then you could too! If anyone out there has a little bit of time to volunteer we could really use you. Let’s come together and make a difference in our community together.
I hope you all had a lot of fun at this event and hope to see you all at our upcoming events in the future. I would also like to thank all the board members who volunteered their time and their BBQ’s and all those who donated prizes to our event Co-op, Millgreen Wine and Spirits, Allegro Hair, Pet Planet and Rogers Video and the anonymous donor who donated sunglasses. If you had a good time at this event please show your support by buying your membership so we can make more events like this possible.
I wish everyone a prosperous and healthy 2008!!
